Can We Ever Get Too Much ’66 GTO in Diecast? YCID Weighs In

The 1966 Pontiac GTO is considered the first over-the-top muscle car ever. Yes, the LeMans took the leap into the GTO world in 1964, but the new, more aggressive sheet metal and higher performance made the 66 the gold standard.

YCID (Your Car in Diecast) has released a new 1/18 model of the GOAT of Goats, and it’s quite nice. YCID distributes its models through Acme Models, which helps it keep its prices in line with other brands.

Not that it’s cheap, mind you, but the detail on this car is extraordinary. The tampo graphics are crisp, and the hoses, wires, and other bits are nicely replicated under the hood. And the interior looks incredibly real.

This one should be available in additional colors soon, but for now, enjoy this one in Barrier Blue. And if you collect GTOs in this scale, let us know what you think of this new take on an old classic.
