Dean Milano, an esteemed member of the Model Car Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee, has written an article on hobbyDB about his all-time favorite model kits.
As someone with a collection of over 2,500 vehicle kits, the man sure knows his stuff.
Among other qualifications, Milano worked for Revell for several years. He even has his own personal model car museum, which attracts about 1,000 visitors a year.
Speaking of the Selection Committee, the 22 members of that group are instrumental in helping decide who will be inducted into the Model Car Hall of Fame every year. In October and November of 2024, we opened the floor for nominations from the public for over 30 categories of people, brands, and models of the year. Then Milano and the other members voted to narrow the list down to five finalists or fewer in each category. That shortlist was handed back to the public to vote for the single best in each category.
And the winners are…
…going to be revealed at a live event at Spielwarrenmesse, the International Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. The Fair runs from January 28 through February 1, and the MCHOF ceremony will be at 4:30 pm, Thursday, January 30 at the Fair.
For now, Enjoy this Dean’s list of the best models!
