Every Year the Model Car Hall of Fame inducts people behind the products that bring joy to diecast collectors. Sometimes they make the models, sometimes they make the real cars. Here are our Inductees for 2022.
Jack Odell – Model Car Legend

Lesney had been in business long before the Matchbox brand came to existence. Their first toy vehicle, a model of Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation Coach was such a hit that founder Jack Odell and his partners started to make other models for kids to play with and collect.
Gordon Murray – Designer of the Year

When aspiring young racer Gordon Murray couldn’t afford a proper race car, he sized up the Lotus 7, figured out the formula, and built his own similar race car from scratch. While he enjoyed racing, he realized his real passion was designing cars. Not just the styling, but the engineering as well. His vast portfolio includes the McLaren F1, so many on-track Formula 1 cars, and even a Batmobile.
