There have been several models of vintage Land Rover vehicles from several diecast companies. They look cool, they are fun to play with driving over every obstacle on your table. But there’s never been anything quite like the new Land Rover Series II model from Hot Wheels.
The proportions on this one are perfect, and the spare tire on the hood looks awesome. Short pipes underneath give it bit of custom blast. And the large but not ridiculous wheels set it off perfectly.
But two other things really stand out: The folded-down windscreen gives it a sleek, low profile despite those monster tires. Also, there is a surfboard that covers the entire passenger side of the interior including that window. And the board even has nice graphics on it.
It’s a model that takes advantage of the real thing’s versatility in a way that fits the spirit of Hot Wheels perfectly. Expect to see this one in stores in many colors. Or expect to not see it, as this model should move a lot faster than the real thing.
