It is an understatement for us at the Hall to say that the year 2020 was very tough on many. As the global pandemic unfolded, our community continued to face new challenges on a daily basis. We are sad to say that the Hall suffered as well. When COVID hit, our most esteemed Community Leader John followed his other love to Georgia and could not give his time to the Hall anymore (we love his commitment to love maybe even more so than his commitment to diecast, and will always miss him).
John and the MCHOF Chair after a long night of counting votes and John’s own 1:1 collection
John did an incredible job facilitating the celebration of all in our hobby and we hope that someday we’ll be able to find another volunteer to fill his shoes. If you’re interested in learning more about what John did, check out the volunteer search here.
Unfortunately, without having John at the helm of our ship, we were not able to do a full selection for the Class of 2020. The good news is, that we were able to recognize some of the incredible folks who made our quarantine a bit less painful in the last year. These five inductees thrived on making it easy for us to enjoy our love of diecast from the safety of our own homes. And for that, we are very thankful.
