Larry Wood has recently unveiled a collection of trading cards that encapsulate some of the artwork from the legendary Hot Wheels designer.
Entitled “The Ones That Got Away,” this high-end, 10-card set features the never-before-seen work of the Model Car Hall of Fame class of ’09 inductee.
Larry has the distinction of being a two-time Model Car Hall of Fame inductee. After being inducted in 2009 for Model Car Designers, he was awarded the MCHOF’s Cookie Lind Humanitarian Award five years later in 2014.
One of Hot Wheels first ever designers, Larry spent more than four decades with the company creating many of its iconic models. But not all of them.
Model cars such as his Street Rod 2 Go, Jet Gasser and California Dreamin’ never saw a production line. But now they’re immortalized in trading card form.
