Over the years, the Model Car Hall of Fame has inducted many collectors for amazing huge, comprehensive collections of a particular brand or style of diecast models. This year’s winner is honored not so much for his own personal collection, but for what he does to help other collectors. For his efforts, Mo Brown, Models Secretary of the Brooklin Collectors Club is the MCHOF Collector of the Year for 2024.
Brooklin Collectors Club, officially recognized by Brooklin Models, expertly documents the history of the brand along with news of current offerings. Through their magazine and website, Mo Brown and company help collectors of this brand connect for trades and sales and most importantly, camaraderie. It all starts with Brown being a passionate fan of the brand first, and then an organizer and ambassador to the brand.
Though a fairly niche company in 1/43 diecast, Brown and the Brooklin Collectors Club have made fans of the brand feel like a much larger community than they might otherwise. Collectors are even encouraged to submit modified models for publication, something you just don’t see that often in high-end diecast. But by encouraging collectors to thoroughly enjoy their models and their hobby, Brooklin is thriving beyond what their market size might indicate.
For combining high-end collecting and the fun of the hobby, for the benefit of all involved, Mo Brown is the Model Car Hall of Fame Collector of the Year for 2024.
