For such utilitarian vehicles, farm tractors have always had a sense of style that goes beyond the purely functional. John Deere has worked feverishly to make their green and yellow color scheme iconic, recognizable, and cool. It doesn’t hurt that their tractors last forever, too.
Something about the 8R 410 model goes beyond that image, though. You might be excused if you thought this was some sort of fantasy design by Hot Wheels or some such, with its aggressively raked hood and forward-thrusting grill. And the dual-dual wheels are so massive, they look like caricatures, or at least monster truck tires.
Siku’s model of the John Deere 8R 410 Tractor captures the almost hot rod spirit of the real thing. It looks like the most powerful and probably fastest tractor in the field by a mile. Seriously, it looks like it’s about to pop a wheelie on those massive rear meats. And with the hood open, it has the vibes of a tyrannosaurus.
You have to look at a photo of the real thing to realize Siku did not take any liberties here to make this thing into a fancy monster truck, but instead a faithful miniature of a sleek, fierce machine. For capturing that essence in small scale, the Siku John Deere 8R 410 Tractor is inducted as the Model Car Hall of Fame’s Farm Equipment Model of 2024.
