Many of the scale models of military vehicles represent the monstrously heavy tanks and heavy artillery, or the light, but rugged Jeeps and other small personnel carriers. Solido offers a model of the General Dynamics Lan Systems M1128 Stryker, which falls somewhere in between. For their accurate representation of this modern fighter, Solido’s Stryker is the inductee for the Model Car Hall of Fame Military Vehicle of the Year for 2024.
The MGS Stryker is an infantry fighting vehicle equipped with a Royal Ordnance L7 105mm anti-tank gun. Designed as a light tank, it is a more mobile vehicle and adapted to the types of combat of the post-Cold War era. Making its debut in the Iraq War in 2007 the Stryker served well in desert combat.
Lighter and more agile than a traditional tank, it is used by US and Canadian forces, although the military has been phasing it out over the last few years. As it turns out, even lighter, more maneuverable vehicles seem to the the answer.
Solido’s model represents that era and camouflage. Solido offers other variants of the Stryker with additional shields, guns, and livery options as well.
Solido’s model captures the lithe, quick, stance of the Stryker, an overdue model celebrating a successful warrior. For that, the Solido General Dynamics Lan Systems M1128 Stryker is inducted as the 2024 Military Vehicle Modle of the Year by the Model Car Hall of Fame.
