We hope you’re all doing great after tax season, specifically hoping that you qualified for a refund, a substantial one at that, and one that is promptly paid. Since a lot of folks are trying to beat the effects of tariffs on the cost of automobiles, they are planning to spend those bucks on a new ride
Our friends at Skelton Corp (aka skelton.fail) have the same concerns. For those who don’t know, Skelton is a weekly comic strip drawn by Nathan Greyman and Ron Ruelle (full disclosure… that’s me!) about a skeleton figure who generally makes poor decisions and experiences less-than-great outcomes.
In the strip, Skelton sometimes drives what appears to be a purple AMC Pacer (see lead image), but for this post-tax-day strip, Greyman had Skelton spend his money on some new wheels, and well… just read it for yourself.

Fun, huh? Now, the strip would probably work with just about any small diecast car, but Greyman felt like Skelton really needed to go with some style. So he gravitated towards the Hot Wheels Bone Shaker, of course. And he drew it in loving detail. If the scale seems a bit bigger than 1/64, remember the Bone Shaker has been released in several sizes. Also, it’s a comic about a skeleton who can drive and files his taxes.

Ron Ruelle is a cartoonist, writer, and illustrator who also writes about model cars. You can see his work at www.ronruelle.com
