A guest post from MCHOF Selection Committee member Matthias Ratzisberger AKA FutureDiecastBro, covering his trip to Diecastcon Madrid 2026 and sharing some awesome photos & video from the event.
Diecastcon Madrid 2026 was, in every respect, an absolute highlight in the calendar of the model car scene – an event that impressed both with its diversity and its atmosphere.

On entering the exhibition hall it was immediately clear that the international elite of the Diecast world was strongly represented here. In particular, renowned brands such as Mini GT, Tarmac Works, Inno64 made their presence known, with numerous novelties and high-quality trade fair models. The detail, the paint quality and the increasingly innovative approaches to scale and implementation clearly show how dynamicaly the scene is currently developing.

Manufacturers such as GT Spirit, Solido and Ottomobile also proved once again why they have been fixed figures in the collector market for years. Their models combine accessibility with excellent quality, hence their appeal to a wide audience. At the same time, more specialized labels like Tiny Customs provided a breath of fresh air and individual highlights – perfect for collectors looking for something special.

In addition to the models themselves, however, it was clear that the people and companies present – names like Tom’s and Turbopads – were what made the event so special. The fair offered the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas with like-minded people, see familiar faces again and make new contacts. Conversations about collections, rare models or upcoming releases made the visit a real experience. It is this personal component that takes an event like this far beyond a mere exhibition.

In summary, Diecastcon Madrid 2026 was a complete success. An impressive variety of brands, top-class exhibitors and a consistently positive, enthusiastic community have made this event very special. For anyone who is serious about model cars, this fair isn’t just worth seeing – it’s simply a must.
